These photos are from a trip to Meadow Lake Provincial Park in the fall of 1999.
Sort of a day in the life of two
Waters Dancing kayaks.

Solace 16LT
This shot of a Solace 16LT was taken in the morning, at the start of what proved to be a long day of paddling. The area we chose to paddle had four lakes connected by a small creek.
It looked good on the map, and in reality was a beautiful area.
There were blueberries everywhere you looked, walked, sat, camped-everywhere!

Solace 16LT
As I said it looked good on the map.  What could be more interesting than to paddle and camp along a chain of lakes connected by a pretty little prairie creek?  The water was down somewhat in the area so as you can see the day became an adventure.  Even trying to find the channel that lead to the next lake was a challenge.  "Wait a minute I think this is a dead end, turn around and we’ll try another spot."
Did she say turn around?

Solace 16LT
Things are starting to open up; the going is getting easier!
But wait, we come to a section that has one beaver dam after another.
They didn’t appear to be collecting any water so we assumed that the beavers put them there for the joy of  watching us slide over them.

Lightning 17 & Solace 16LT

We stopped in a small bay to explore.  She said she would stay in her boat and reflect!
As I walked I did a little reflecting too.  Today we had rigged a jacket between two kayak paddles and sailed across a lake.  We paddled and pushed our way along a creek that was only 2” deep in places.  At every turn we were left wondering what would be around the next bend. It was a great day!  The day was coming to an end, and there had been quite a number of miles pass under our keels.  When I got back to the boats I found her “reflecting” peacefully.  It would soon be time to clear (eat) a section of blueberries large enough to pitch a tent and let the memories of the day settle while the flames of our
camp fire brought us closer to sleep.
