First I have to say what a great experience it has been to actually build a boat. I finished the lightning 17 in the spring of 2005. About half way through the process I knew that I would build another.  Everything went together just the way it was designed to. What a feeling of accomplishment, and what a beautiful boat. I've gotten so many comments,  and oohs and ahhs.  Soon I will be calling watersdancing for an explorer 16 canoe. If anybody is considering building one of these boats, just do it, You will never regret it. I look forward to my children and I taking a trip or two, in a few years.
