Paddlers from 5’ 3” to 6’ 3” from 105 lbs.- 225 lbs. can easily maneuver their favorite river, lake or ocean trip with confidence.  This is the big brother to the Solace 16 LT “Light” the XL’s hull has more volume than the Solace 16 LT therefore carries more gear.  Settling into the roomy cockpit is like coming home and you’re ready for any adventure you can plan.  

Feedback from owner/builders of our craft tell us that beginners will love the sense of security, stability, maneuverability and speed, while Intermediate and expert paddlers revel in the shear exhilaration of the performance of the sleekly sculptured hull.  Note: the low deck at the rear of the cockpit.  If you want to practice rolling you can do so with ease.  

The Solace series has four chines to give your hull much better shaping than other multi chine hulls.  People that come into our showroom to view our kayaks and canoes are always amazed at the finely tuned hull. With shapes as sleek as any you’ll find anywhere whatever the construction cedar, molded fiberglass or plastic.  We are working very hard to bring you the best boat and kit money can buy! 

More chines means narrower panel widths, which means less deflection and greater strength than a similar sized hull of the same weight.  A rounder hull displaces impact throughout the hull.  Giving better strength than with a hull with defined corners.  If you enjoy wilderness traveling this is a great all round kayak that specializes in performance.

There are double bulkheads behind the cockpit; this allows you to install a day hatch (optional) for greater safety and convenience.  If the day hatch is not needed simply leave out the second bulkhead when you’re completing the final bulkhead installation.
