The "EX" stands for  Extreme, and designer Don Moore has pulled out all the stops to blend just the right amount of length, beam and shape to yield a truly high performance touring kayak.

Just add water to this floating rocket and you will be amazed at the smooth acceleration, excellent tracking, and carrying capacity of this unique craft.

It has a beautifully flared bow, a v-shaped fore deck designed to shed water and keep you dry.  The Solace 18EX has a lower aft deck for ease of rolling and its vertical stern increases the waterline length.  This combination gives the Solace 18EX a very unique profile.

Experienced paddlers claim that comfort plays a major role in the performance of any touring kayak.  With this in mind, Don  Moore has designed the upswept fore deck to provide more leg and foot room.  In addition, you have two cockpit styles to choose from (see photo of Lightning 17) and like all our kits it comes with a removable seat.  Ergonomically designed for comfort, the seat comes with an adjustable back brace and side braces.  Combined with our knee braces and foot braces these features allow you to customize your Solace 18EX for maximum comfort and efficiency.

Ideal for medium and large paddlers, the Solace 18EX is sleek and stylish, with the look and feel of a speedster, yet it offers enough space to carry a large load.   

Though the Solace 18EX was designed as an outfitters boat, excellent for intermediate paddlers,  even a novice paddler would learn to appreciate the exhilaration of paddling this thoroughbred.
