Description

The Solace 16LT is designed for smaller paddlers (to about 170 lbs.)  who want a more slender hull that rides lower in the water. (However we have had paddlers up to 6' and 200 lbs. who enjoy paddling this kayak)  It has less volume than the Lightning 17 and is less likely to be blown around in windy conditions.  The Solace complements the Lightning 17 very well; they are a popular combination for a husband and wife paddling team.

The Solace 16LT is very stable with a multi-chine (four) hull design, that tracks and turns well.  Our exclusive four-chine hull has shaping like a cedar strip or fiberglass kayak.  The strength of the stitch & glue okoume mahogany plywood hull is greater than that of a cedar strip boat and is also less susceptible to cracking than fiberglass. Waters Dancing kayaks are 30% lighter and much stiffer than fiberglass hulls.
