Don,
Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my 18' Solace Extreme.
Initially it was fun to build. The instructions and the kit were complete and
easy to understand & work with. I was amazed at the exactness of all the cuts.
Good work! I have paddled various other kayaks on the west coast, Queen
Charlottes & the Sea of Cortez and found the Solace to be by far the most
responsive and fun kayak I've used. It has lots of volume for extended trips and
is; very comfortable, even after six hours on the seat. It's a fast boat and
very efficient. When paddling with others I'm consistently finding myself out
front. I've even considered using a rear view mirror mounted on the brim of my
hat; like a cyclist would use; to make sure I stay with the group. I haven't yet
had a chance to use it for surf landings in the ocean but that's definitely the
plan for next year. I've made two trips on the North Saskatchewan river.
One from Rocky Mtn. House to Drayton Valley and one from Drayton to Devon.
Although the Solace is a long kayak I didn't find it too long to maneuver in the
river. On the lakes it's superb! I was also pleased with it's strength.
Even after hitting a few rocks and sliding over gravel bars the graphite bottom
is in great shape. Thanks for a great product. My next kayak will be a
Waters Dancing Kayak.
Best Regards
Norm Sanders
