I have just completed building the "Lightning" 17 ft Kayak, and I want to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I wholeheartedly agree with the words of the founder of Waters Dancing, the late Mr. Jim Moore, that it is the right to say that I built the craft, that makes me feel so good.

This is my first boat building project. I am not an expert craftsman. I would venture to say that almost anybody with a minimum experience with tools can build the "Lightning". The manual is well written and easy to follow.

I would also like to thank Don Moore and Jeff, the owner and staff at Waters Dancing, for their great support throughout. I asked many foolish questions but was never let down and I think that the personal attention they showed me was the main ingredient in the success of the project. Their involvement was proof to me that small companies have great advantages over the more impersonal big corporations.

Now it is November and I cannot get the kayak in the water until Spring due to the ice conditions. I guess I am in for a long winter!

Sincerely,
Henning F. Rasmussen, P.Eng.
