Hi Don:
 
I thought you might be interested in seeing the finished product and the mechanism I developed to keep the gunwale off the carrying rack.  The detail in the bow and stern is a rust-colored piece of birchbark I found in the bush and glued on under the fiberglass.  The yoke is a piece of fir to give a more traditional look.  I am happy with the performance.  It is a perfect canoe.
