Hi Don.... As you recall when I first contacted you, I was a very hesitant first time builder of anything. Now here I am writing you to let you know how proud I am of the finished boat built by my own hands. I’ve heard it said that building your own boat can be a life altering experience and I think that in some ways it is true. The sense of accomplishment, pride and confidence in myself really has changed. Of course, all the attention from family, friends and total strangers doesn’t hurt. My friend commented that the shape and lines of the boat were like a piece of art. Putting the boat in the water the first time was really a thrill. What a great design! I’ve paddled a lot of boats, but yours felt better than anything I’ve tried. Paddling in calm, choppy or windy conditions does not alter the straight tracking, with absolutely no tendency to wander, yet I could turn quite easily. I felt really comfortable with the stability both initially and when leaned.
The kit was so thorough and well thought out for assembly, and the manual was detailed and well written. I really appreciated the fact that you made yourself available to answer any questions I had along the way. I modified the boat somewhat by not using any of the included hardware, and I am very happy with the results. It’s now a truly unique kayak thanks to you and Waters Dancing.
I have experienced honking horns, thumbs up signs, lots of crowds and questions... and even had an Ontario Provincial Police car stop me, only because he loved the kayak and wanted info about it!
Anytime you have someone interested in your kayaks but not sure if they can or should build one, please have them contact me. It’s very rare to find a company that exceeds your expectations with their product and service. Thanks for providing me with that experience.
