Don,

Here is a picture of my 17' Lightning on Great Slave Lake near Hay River, NWT. It has been a great experience for me building and paddling your Waters Dancing, stitch and glue boat kits this past year.

To date I have build two 17' Lightning and a 16'Solace. Each of the kits went together very smoothly. I found the kits complete, the components accurately cut and well marked to correspond with the reference manual. The instruction manual was easy to follow with the explanations, illustrations and "hints".

My wife Janice and I have paddled these boats throughout northern Alberta and the NWT. They track very straight without rudders, fit comfortably and are extremely stable. The 17' has adequate cargo capacity for a couple weeks worth of provisions. The 16' is lighter and quicker than the 17' yet comparably stable. I have paddled them both comfortably in 2 - 3 ft. waves.

These kayaks have definitely generated a lot of conversation and compliments wherever I have taken them. I'm looking forward to building my next Waters Dancing kit this year and the upcoming paddling season. I would recommend your kits to anyone interested in building a beautiful looking, functional kayak.
